Sandra Day is a Past-President of Magnet Schools of America from 2008-2010 with 38 years in full time education roles. Formerly with Omaha Public Schools, she served as a classroom teacher in magnet schools, a technology coordinator, a professional development coordinator, and the district’s Magnet School Coordinator and AVID District Director. In addition, she served Council Bluffs Community School District in Iowa as its 21st Century Community Learning Center Program Director and grant writer for 11 school sites. She has testified before Congress and has been a presenter at numerous state and national events.
In 2019, Dr. Day began her firm, Educational Consulting by Day, LLC. Dr. Day has expertise in federal and state grant writing programs, program evaluation of the same, and professional development across a wide variety of educational areas. Sandra earned her B.A. from the University of Iowa in 1980. She earned her M.A. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1991 and her doctorate from that same university in 2014.
