My Magnet Moment

Calling all Districts! We want to hear from your students! We are excited to include student voices in many activities in the upcoming year, starting with our upcoming Fall Policy Conference, and we need your help to make it happen.

Check out the steps below to learn how to participate. You can also download this flyer and hang it up in your classroom to encourage students to participate.

Step 1: Find Your Student Voices

  • Reach out to your elementary, middle, and high school students to find those who are interested in sharing their perspectives at the conference.
  • Important: Make sure you have a media release form signed by a parent or guardian before any student participates.

Step 2: Record Their Voice

No special equipment is needed – you or the student can use a phone, a computer, or even a recording studio at your school.

Step 3: Keep it Short & Sweet

We’ve created a set of prompts tailored to each student level (elementary, middle, and high school) that you can see below. Students should choose one question from each section to answer in their video. Recommended video length is no longer than 45 seconds, and should include the student’s name, school, and grade.

We can’t wait to hear what your students have to say!
