As of October 1, 2025, the federal government officially shut down after Congress failed to pass a continuing resolution (CR) before FY 2025 funding expired at midnight. The House narrowly passed a bill to extend funding through November 21, but the Senate rejected it, along with a Democratic proposal to extend funding until October 31 and renew expiring health care subsidies.

Eliminating MSAP would not only dismantle one of the most effective tools for expanding public school choice, it would also reverse decades of bipartisan progress in public education.
Washington, DC – Magnet Schools of America (MSA) has named 19 Nationally Certified Schools and 19 Nationally Certified-Demonstration Schools, bringing the total number of nationally certified schools across the country to 298.
