Building What’s Next: South CTA Connects Learning, Careers, and Community

South Career and Technical Academy (Clark County School District) is building on the strengths of the Career and Technical Academy model while creating a school experience centered on project-based learning, career exploration, and student engagement. Opened in 2025, South CTA was designed to give students opportunities to create, collaborate, problem-solve, and apply what they are learning in meaningful ways.

Students choose from career pathways including Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics, Civil Engineering, Cyber Defense and Advanced Computing, Biomedical Science, Sports Medicine, Finance and Business Leadership, Education and Leadership, Engineering and Energy Technologies, and Entertainment and Sports Marketing. Across academic and career courses, teachers connect rigorous standards to authentic problems, student interests, and the world beyond school.

Just as important, South CTA is building a school students want to be part of—one where relationships, professional skills, leadership, community partnerships, and meaningful learning help prepare students for what comes next.
