P-TECH Norwalk Student Brings a Message of Belonging to the National Stage

 

In July, P-TECH Norwalk High School student Isabella “Isa” Morales was one of only three students nationwide selected to speak at the MSAP national “Making Connections” Project Director Conference.

Speaking before nearly 1,000 educators and leaders, Isa delivered a powerful message about identity, belonging, and student voice. She proudly shared her Greek, Puerto Rican, and American heritage while challenging schools to ensure every student feels seen, valued, and understood. Isa reminded leaders that “belonging is not something students should have to earn” but something schools must help create.

Her call to action urged educators to listen to students and turn their voices into meaningful change. Isa’s words left an indelible mark on Norwalk, the conference, and the national conversation about education, with a message that will continue to ripple across the country in support of better experiences for all students.
