Groton school pilots engineering curriculum for kindergarten

The school has been teaching Engineering is Elementary curriculum at higher grades for a few years, but West's class is now one of about 30 in the country - and the only one in Connecticut - piloting the new kindergarten curriculum.

Six To Six Magnet School Teacher Wins C.E.S. Teacher Of Year Award

Christie Cantalupo, a fifth-grade teacher at Six to Six Magnet School in Bridgeport, is Cooperative Educational Services' Teacher of the Year for 2017. Ms. Cantalupo is now eligible for the 2018 Connecticut Teacher of the Year Award, which will be announced in November.

For the past four years, the Marine Science Magnet High School (MSMHS) of Southeastern Connecticut received an average of 400 applications for its incoming freshman class. Like every magnet school in Connecticut, it used a lottery process to randomly select the 73 students who get in.
