Dewayne McClary

Dewayne J. McClary is a nationally recognized education leader and currently serves as the Deputy State Superintendent for Innovation, Student Pathways & Opportunities at the Virginia Department of Education. He is widely known for reimagining education—building innovative school models, championing equitable access, and preparing students for the future. With nearly two decades of experience across classroom teaching, school leadership, district administration, and national K-12 organizations—including Digital Promise, Engage2Learn, Zūm and Participate Learning—Dewayne has led transformative partnerships that advance equity and student-centered learning.
