Magnet Schools of America has created easy-to-follow guide to understanding and implementing ESSA (Every Students Succeeds Act), an extension of No Child Left Behind, and is federal law for grades K-12. Input and flexible decision-making at the local level is encouraged to fulfill each state’s obligations to the law which goes into full effect in the 2017-18 school year. MSA provides a toolkit and full instruction on how local magnet schools can get involved with the implementation of ESSA.
MSA’s Grassroots Action Center provides direct links to your legislative representatives where you can write to not only support program appropriations but share your thanks with them as well for their support of magnet schools. Interested activists, including parents, can even send personalized messages to their elected members of Congress.
