Dr. Ronald P. Simpson was one of the founding members of Magnet Schools of America (MSA). Dr. Simpson was from Kansas City and worked in the Missouri Public School System. He served as the second president of the organization from 1994-1995. Dr. Simpson made a positive impact on magnet schools, and to commemorate his outstanding contributions, Magnet Schools of America established the Dr. Ronald P. Simpson Distinguished Merit Award (considered the highest award for magnet schools in the nation).
