Dr. Judith Stein

Dr. Judith Stein is the former Executive Director of the Division of Magnet/Innovative Programs for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. She authored two successful MSAP grants (1991-1993) and (1995-1998), which provided over $18 million in grant funds for the fourth largest school district in the nation.

Dr. Stein was a leader in the school choice movement serving as the first President of MSA and developed the first state association for charter schools in Florida. As the Executive Director(ED) of the National Institute for Educational Options at Nova Southeastern University for 17 years, she is a board member of the National Career Academy Coalition (trustee board member); a current Board member of the State of Florida Charter Schools Association and a national committee member of the National School Choice Week.

She was a leader in the career education movement, serving as President for the American Association for Career Education, a policy board member of the American Vocational Association Guidance Division, and the Executive Chairperson of the International Collaborative Conference on Careers. Even in “retirement”, she is the voluntary ED of the Herbert Kay Parkinson’s Chapter in Aventura, FloridaShe and is active as “Grandma Choice” on twitter where you can follow her @JudithStein.
