Grassroots Action Center

Magnet Schools of America (MSA) encourages all its members to participate in grassroots activities to build awareness and support for magnet schools at the federal, state, and local level. Grassroots activities can be carried out in your community and will help you demonstrate your school’s effectiveness. Every magnet school is urged to play a part in this nationwide effort because the support of policy makers is important to our future.

Your help is needed to ensure that necessary resources are available for magnet school programs; especially through the federal Magnet Schools Assistance Program. It is also imperative that state legislation and local policy decisions are made to strengthen magnet schools. As the local expert on magnet programs, you are the most qualified to inform politicians about your schools and how they are improving public education.

Grassroots Action Plan

MSA has created a Grassroots Action Plan that provides ideas and instructions for showcasing your magnet school and interacting with your political leaders. A number of grassroots activities are outlined, and there is at least one that every member will be able to accomplish.
