Jillian Schulte is the District Magnet Coordinator, supporting magnet schools and innovative programming in the Cedar Rapids Community School District. Prior to this role, she spent over ten years as an elementary music specialist and PLC Leader. Most recently, she completed a Master of Science in Education (MSE) with Principal Licensure at Drake University. While teaching in the music classroom, Jillian’s passion for integrated approaches and inspiring student voice was born. In her current role, she has the opportunity to continue sharing, designing, and co-creating integrated approaches to support student driven learning. She is passionate about access, equity, and cultivating positive relationships to support and empower students and colleagues to lead, learn, and grow.
Her recent magnet leadership experiences include: on-boarding new coordinators, managing the magnet school lottery and marketing, leading a district team in creating a Magnet School Strategic Plan with belief statements, actions, and measures, co-creating magnet school rounding protocols, and creating an innovative programming toolkit to support whole school redesign and pilot programs from concept to successful implementation.
